Database

Alternatively referred to as a databank and sometimes abbreviated asDB, a database is a large quantity of information that can be searched, referenced, compared, changed or otherwise manipulated without a lot of work.

Field

field is a single item of data within a database or software program. For example, a field may be a customer name, address, or phone number.

Record

1. A collection of related data contained in one or more files. For example, a support company may have a record on you or your computer, this record may contain such data as information about the computer and its history.
