Plotter
A plotter is a computer hardware device similar to a printer that uses a pen, pencil, marker or other writing tool to make a design. Often these printers are used in schematics, CAD, and other print jobs. In the picture to the right, is an example of what a plotter printer may look like.
Types Of Plotter :-
Flatbed plotter
A flatbed plotter is a computerized plotter that plots by moving an arm that moves a pen over paper rather than having paper move under the arm as with a drum plotter.
Drum plotter
A drum plotter is a plotter that uses a drum revolver to move the paper during printing while the actual pen performs the printing.
Pen plotter
A pen plotter is a computer printer commonly used in CAD or wire frame graphics, that utilizes one or more pens (similar to that you would write with) to print an image. This consists of drawing multiple lines on the paper.
HPGL
Developed by Hewlett Packard, HPGL, or HP-GL, is short for Hewlett Packard Graphic Language and is a vector graphics language used to command a printer or plotter to give the desired output.
